beIN MEDIA GROUP (beIN) and Group ONE Holdings (ONE) have announced an exclusive multi-year partnership to broadcast ONE Championship events live across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) for the first time in the region. This is a milestone partnership that will mark the first time beIN is distributing mixed martial arts content to its audiences, underlining the growth of the sport across the region as well as the growing fanbase and rising demand for ONE’s dynamic content. beIN SPORTS, beIN’s flagship channel, will broadcast ONE’s international events with both Arabic and English commentary across 24 territories in the MENA region. The broadcaster will also feature ONE round-up shows across its channels, in addition to dedicated social media and digital content throughout the year on beIN SPORTS’ platforms. Mohammad Al-Subaie, CEO of beIN MENA said: “We are delighted to sign this agreement with ONE, a significant promoter of MMA throughout Asia, and one that has united fans and fighters alike under a powerful martial arts and e-sports banner. ONE events are a fantastic addition to our already impressive sports portfolio, and highlights our ongoing commitment to showcasing diverse sports to our subscribers across MENA.” Chatri Sityodtong, Chairman and CEO of Group ONE Holdings, added: “This partnership with beIN will be the catalyst for ONE’s content proliferation across the Middle East and North Africa and will allow us to reach and engage live with our passionate fans here through the largest sports broadcaster in the region. beIN is one of the world’s leaders in sports broadcasting and we’re very proud that they’ve chosen to partner with us and showcase our unique products on their platform.” One of the key drivers of the partnership is the demographic alignment. The Middle East and North Africa is a region with one of the most attractive demographics globally that is highly Millennial and GenZ (74% under the age of 39), digitally native and well-educated. ONE’s fan demographic mirrors this with 71% of its fans under the age of 442.  Martial arts participation and engagement has grown significantly across MENA over the last few years. This announcement is just the latest in a series of partnerships that ONE has signed, including recent agreements with the Qatar Investment Authority and Media City Qatar, as it seeks to become the leader in martial arts and gaming across the region. Subscribers can tune into beIN SPORTS PREMIUM 3 now to enjoy ONE Championship.
ONE Fight Night 2 takes place this weekend at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore, and is the latest card to be shown at prime time in the USA. The stacked bill is sure to be something combat sports fans around the world will not want to miss – here are five reasons why…… 1. Two incredible world title fights Most fight fans would be delighted with a title-fight to headline a card but at ONE Fight Night 2 there will be two belts on the line – including the Strawweight World Championship, and the Flyweight Submission Grappling World Championship – this is a night not to be missed. 2. Champion v Champion: The Trilogy When it comes to the great rivalries in women’s MMA, look no further than Xiong Jing Nan and Angela Lee. Strawweight Champion Xiong (17-2) will put her title on the line against current Atomweight queen Lee (11-2), to settle a trilogy which currently stands at one win each. Xiong took the first fight in March 2019 via TKO with a series of vicious body kicks and punches, while Lee evened the score with a submission win just over six months later. ‘Unstoppable’ Lee has only fought once since then, a win over Stamp Fairtex in March this year, while Xiong has three five-round decisions to her name reinforcing her position at the head of the 125lbs division.  3. A first submission-grappling champ will be crowned In a first for ONE, this weekend will see the crowning of the first-ever submission grappling champion, in the flyweight division – and you could not ask for two better competitors. American Mikey Musumeci is widely regarded as the best American-born Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner on the planet, and he will have his skills tested by Sao Paolo’s Cleber Sousa. Musumeci is a five-time jiu-jitsu world champion (four gi and one no-gi), and currently holds a four-fight win streak and an overall 17-3 record, this will be his second ONE outing. Sousa will be making his ONE debut this weekend, but has a lengthy list of accomplishments in the sport, including a gold at the IBJJF Pan American Championships. The pair have faced each other twice previously, in 2017, with each man picking up a win – this rubber match will decide who goes home with a brand new title. 4. Turkish fighters ready to make a big splash This card will have a lot of interest in the Middle East and surrounding area, with a strong Turkish presence featuring. Tayfun Ozcan will continue in his quest for a shot at the featherweight kickboxing world title in what is set to be a spectacular striking encounter against Marat Grigorian. Ozcan is of Dutch/Turkish origin and has enjoyed a stunning rise, losing just one of his last 15 bouts – including 5 KO/TKO finishes. He now has his sights set on getting closer to title glory.  Halil Amir will be familiar to Middle East MMA fans after his appearance at UAE Warriors in 2021. He will make his ONE debut this weekend against Timofey Nastyukhin – the co-owner of the record for fastest knockout at just six seconds. 5. A Pair Of Famous Former ONE World Champions Return To go along with that, there are plenty of fighters with title experience and credentials on the card. Atomweight World Grand Prix champion Stamp Fairtex will take on Jihin Radzuan. Fairtex is a former ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Title holder, and winner of the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix Tournament. Last time out she failed in her bid to take the Atomweight MMA crown from Angela Lee and will be keen to get back in the win column. Martin Nguyen, who battles Ilya Freymanov, is a former two-weight world champion – and almost a three-weight champion. Having signed with ONE in 2014, inside just six fights he has claimed gold in two divisions – the first fighter to complete the feat in ONE history. He’s lost two of his last three fights, but a win last time out over Kiril Gorobets put him back on track and the Australian will be looking to maintain that momentum this weekend.    ONE Fight Night 2 is not to be missed, for more information and to find out how you can watch see http://watch.onefc.com/
Tayfun Ozcan is ready for the biggest night of his fighting career this weekend as he takes on Marat Grigorian as he continues on his quest for the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title. The bout takes place as part of a stacked card for ONE Fight Night 2 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore, and the Turkish challenger is relishing the opportunity to take on one of the best in the world. Ozcan (88-9-3), comes into the fight making just his third appearance in ONE, but holding a fearsome reputation around the kickboxing world. Grigorian (65-12-1-1), is well established and a former Glory lightweight champion. Last time out he took reigning ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Superbon Singha Mawynn the distance when challenging for the title. For fifth-ranked Ozcan it is the perfect opponent as he continues to climb the ranks – and seek a shot at Superbon himself – a fight he could secure with a win this weekend. Following a close split-decision loss on his ONE debut in October last year, Ozcan rebounded with a win over Enrico Kehl. In the last five years he has built a dominant record, just that one defeat in 15 fights since April 2017. For Grigorian, he will be looking for a trilogy fight against Superbon. In 2018 he won the knockout of the year award after a stunning finish against the current champion, but with the scores now tied at one fight all he will be keen to secure a rubber match. With so much on the line for both men you can expect fireworks when the meet on the lead card of ONE Fight Night 2, which will also feature the highly anticipated clash for the Strawweight World Championship when champion Xiong Jing Nan defends her title against Atomweight queen Angela Lee, while a first ever submission-grappling champion will be crowned when Mikey Musumeci takes on Cleber Sousa. You can watch Tyfun Ozcan take on Marat Grigiorian in the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing division, as part of an incredible night of fighting at ONE Fight Night 2. GMG’s Sun & Sand Sports has kickstarted its Back to School campaign with the message that sport is not just about winning – it’s about having fun. The #MakeSportsFun concept encourages children and young adults to change the meaning of victory and empowering them to define what victory means to each one of them. Rapid societal and technological advancements mean that children are growing up in an increasingly competitive world. The pressure to excel in every sphere is intense. Parents, often unconsciously, impose their aspirations and dreams on their children to achieve. That, combined with the societal pressure to “fit in” by their peers, amplified by social media, shapes their behavior towards sport as an added pressure. What was once supposed to be fun has turned into yet another series of validation, where achievement outweighs playing sports. Which is why a staggering 70% of children quit sports by the age of 13. Videogames however, are a whole other ballgame. With videogames, kids are allowed to fail without the ever-watchful eye of their parents. They have more fun engaging with a game when there is less external pressure and judgement. No real-world consequences for losing or failing. They get to make mistakes, fail, and try again. Independently. They are truly free to have fun on their own terms. Bringing the judgement-free, light-hearted fun of video games into the world of sports is what this Back to School campaign intends on doing. “In line with our efforts to constantly push the boundaries in delivering exceptional customer experiences, this year’s Back to School campaign promises to be different and redefine the conversation of what validation means in sports, bringing back the fun and joy into sport. The objective is to encourage children to enjoy sports as much as they enjoy video games. We have done that by creating a world where real sports and elements from video games come together for children to enjoy. We want children to truly feel free and enjoy themselves playing the sports they like.” explained Mohamed Bodiat, Senior Vice President Brands – Sports at GMG. The wide range of clothing, apparel and accessories featured in the Back To School visuals include some of the foremost global brands such as Nike, Adidas, Speedo, and Puma. Beyond clothing, Sun & Sand Sports also provides athletic equipment for swimming, yoga and much more. You can check out the campaign on the website and social media channels: Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
Following the UAE’s aspirations for sporting excellence on the world stage, Emirates Draw is delighted to announce that it is the Main Sponsor of the FIBA U18 Asian Championship GBA Qualifier, which will take place from 29 July to 6 August 2022. This association is in line with the directives of the country’s wise leadership to promote a culture of participation in various community initiatives. In addition to the organisation’s expanding efforts to build on its vision, as the beacon of hope with the power to transform lives and create a sustainable economy for a better tomorrow. Emirates Draw’s sponsorship was revealed during the tournament’s official press conference yesterday at the UAE Basketball Association Headquarter. The event was attended by senior representatives from FIBA Asia, the UAE Basketball Association, Dubai Sports Council, the General Authority of Sports and Emirates Draw in the presence of local, regional, and international media. “Our participation in this key sporting tournament, considered to be among the strongest championships in the Middle East, is derived from our firm belief in giving back to individuals and the society as a whole. Following the UAE’s aspirations for a Better Tomorrow, we take genuine pride in our support of our nation’s youth team as they represent our country in the FIBA Asian Cup. Basketball is truly an exciting sport with a growing following across the UAE and beyond and as such we hope to touch as many lives as possible through this collaboration,” pointed out Paul Chader, Head of Marketing at Emirates Draw. The organisation’s determination to support communities in the UAE and beyond continues to be reflected in its weekly draws, which has changed the lives of more than 23,000 winners by distributing over AED 31M in just over ten months of operation. Emirates Draw is also an active participant and supporter of the UAE’s sustainability agenda through its ‘Coral Reef Restoration Programme’. The Programme is led by experienced divers and volunteers who are passionate about preserving the UAE’s rich marine life. So far, multiple locations have been surveyed and over 4,000 coral polyps planted at different sites across the country, and plan to intensify planting efforts is in line with the government’s conservation mandate to further support the UAE’s leading role in the efforts currently underway to preserve coral reefs across the region. Recently, Emirates Draw distributed AED 682,003 to 339 winners during its latest draw round. Along with the raffle draw’s seven guaranteed winners,1 participant in the main draw matched 5 out of 7 digits to win AED 77,777 and 2 participants matched 4 out of 7 digits to win AED 7,777. Moreover, 27 participants matched 3 out of 7 digits to win AED 777 each, 302 participants matched 2 out of 7 digits and each won AED 77, and finally, approximately 10% of all participants matched 1 out 7 digits to become instant AED 7 winners. The AED 100M Grand Prize, the largest in the region, remains up for grabs to be claimed by a single person or group of people who match all seven numbers from right to left, at which point the grand prize resets to AED 77 million. Optimistic participants have another chance to try for the life-changing prize during the next draw round, which will be broadcast live on Sunday, 31 July 2022, at 9pm UAE time. How to play? Entrants can choose to participate in the weekly draw by purchasing an AED 50 pencil, part of which goes to support the environment through the planting of coral polyps along the coast of the UAE and as part of Emirates Draw’s main corporate social responsibility programme to support the UAE government’s vision. After registering online at www.emiratesdraw.com or through the mobile application, participants can select their seven-digit number or have the system choose their number randomly. With their purchase, participants are entered into two separate drawings, the first a raffle draw where every week seven lucky participants are guaranteed AED 77,777 each. In addition, all participants have the choice to be entered into a second draw with 7 prize categories that start at AED 7 and include the Grand Prize of AED100 million when all seven numbers are matched. The next draw will be live streamed across its digital platforms, YouTube, and Facebook.  Be the next lucky winner and book your numbers early! For more information, please call the toll-free number 800 77 777 777.
While Huawei have a great foothold in the tech world, they aren’t particularly reputed for their audio products but their offering with the Sound Joy does set them apart. A shrewd move in developing this product was to partner up with Devialet, a high-end French luxury audio brand, to co-engineer the speaker. The Sound Joy bears a striking resemblance to the JBL Flip but does boast a more high-end look. It comes with RGB lighting as well that can sync up to the audio but only on Android devices. They even manage to bring a premium look to the rubber buttons while the quality of the lace strap is another little detail that makes it more pleasing on the eye. It’s a little taller and heavier than its competitors but still makes for a great indoor/outdoor speaker. The NFC pairing button makes connecting to a device via Bluetooth seamless. The 5.2 speaker has great range and stability. It can survive under water at 1 metre for over 30 minutes. It’s 8800 MAH battery offers 26 hours of playback which is a massive step up from UE Boom’s 15 hours. It also supports fast-charging which can give you 1 hour of playback in just 10 minutes. The battery will charge up completely in 3 hours. Another useful feature is the Sound Joy’s ability to sync up with another of its kind by simply shaking it. The Huawei Sound Joy does a find job when it comes to audio performance with its punchy bass particularly standing out. It boasts a powerful sound with its 20W full-frequency speaker, 10W silk dome tweeter, and two passive radiators. VERDICT It’s a fantastic all-round speaker with plenty of features and all available at a very reasonable price. However, iPhone users have every right to feel apprehensive as they won’t be able to tap into the Sound Joy’s full potential.

After the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions’ League, Hublot is once again preparing to experience and share magical football moments. For the first time, UEFA and Hublot are joining forces for women’s football. Women’s Euro 2022 includes 25 days of football, 16 teams, 10 stadiums and a much-anticipated final at Wembley. For the first time in 22 years, Germany will not be starting the tournament as title-holder, as the Netherlands have held it since 2017. In a sign that women’s football is becoming increasingly visible, UEFA has already announced that the 2022 event will set new records in spectators and television audiences. Following the example of its role as sponsor for UEFA’s men’s competitions, Hublot has worn the colours of women’s football since 2015 by supporting the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada and since 2020, the UEFA Women’s Champions League, UEFA’s Women’s Under-19, UEFA’s Women’s Under-17 and UEFA’s Futsal EURO Women’s champions League, the indoor hard-court football tournament. These sponsorship deals confirm Hublot’s commitment to the sport’s values and the inclusive spirit of football. Through its commitments, Hublot also champions the values of the Together #WePlayStrong campaign, which fittingly aims to develop women’s football in Europe. The watchmaker carries this commitment onto the pitches, with its two friends of the brand– Ada Hegerberg & Alexia Putellas. Ada Hegerberg, will play the competition on the Norwegian team (Group A) and will defend her country’s colours on the pitch, but together they both embody the spirit of women’s football. These two sporting icons are on two different, inspiring paths, to bring the values of equality to the heart of football and even beyond. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hublot (@hublot) Ada Hegerberg has been a friend of the brand since 2019. She is the star of the Norwegian women’s national team, the winner of the 2018 Ballon d’Or, and holds the record for the most goals in 2019. Recently recovered from an injury that has kept her away from competition, she is making her return to the Norwegian national team for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022. Football is a family affair for Ada: she was inspired by her sister Andrine Stolsmo Hegerberg. Now in turn, she is inspiring the new generation to play football. Alexia Putellas has been a friend of the brand since 2021. She is the player with the greatest number of caps in the Spanish team. Already a Barça legend, in 2021 she pulled off the double achievement: the Women’s Ballon d’Or and UEFA’s Women’s Player of the Year award. She started playing football at school where she already showed her leadership qualities. Many dream of following in their path. These great players champion the values of courage, determination and heart through the #showyourheartcampaign. At Hublot we love football, especially the dreams, the emotions and inspiration that it generates.

WATCH each TD pass from Arch Manning's record-breaking night

Arch Manning now holds the all-time touchdown passes and passing yards records for Isidore Newman (La.), taking over the top spots held by uncles Peyton and Eli.

And he did so in epic fashion this past Friday, throwing for 356 yards and 7 touchdowns in the Greenies’ 52-22 win over Pearl River (La.).

Watch the highlight reel from the record-setting night:

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by USA TODAY High School Sports (@usatodayhss)

The 5-star Texas commit has been a significant focus for several years now, with a ton of buzz generated in the early summer of 2022 as top NCAA programs attempted to add the talented QB to its future roster.

After Arch chose the Longhorns, the news cycle shifted to his senior season at Newman, and the possible records Arch could add to his impressive resume.

And the 2022 campaign has held strong, including one epic comeback against Benton (La.), where the Greenies overcame an 18-point deficit at halftime to win it 54-52.

Although the following week would be a tough loss to Many (La.), the team didn’t let that carry over to the game against Pearl River.

A historic win-win effort.

Kanas high school football team wins Friday night game 108-0

Blowouts are a part of sports – and are more common at the high school level than anywhere else, thanks to the disparity in talent from team to team. And sometimes, that results in a ridiculous, lopsided final score.

That was certainly the case this past Friday night when one Kansas team won their game in a 100-plus point shutout.

Andale defeated Nickerson by a final score of 108-0. They led 78-0 at halftime and played their JV and freshmen players for the entire second half. The team finished with 12 touchdowns on just 35 plays. Meanwhile, their opponents didn’t complete a pass and finished with -62 rushing yards on 41 attempts.

Andale head coach Dylan Schmidt told The Eagle that it was tough to be a part of, and they tried their best to be respectful.

“It was a tough game to be a part of, it really was… We thought about kneeling it, but we felt like that would have been more disrespectful. We tried to slow things down and send it in slower. Give their staff credit: they weren’t upset and they realized we were doing everything we could have on our end.”

While many might not see any reason for highlighting sportsmanship efforts in such a game, one of the people against such arguments was the head coach on the other sideline, Taylor Bauman.

“Obviously people are going to react to the final score, but I thought coach Schmidt handled it as well as he could have,” Bauman said. “I have absolutely nothing against what he did. They put their young guys in early and their young guys just executed better than our old guys. So there’s no hard feelings for what they did. Of course it’s hard losing like that, but I have a lot of respect for coach Schmidt and their program.”

Andale, a Kanas power in Class 3A, has now won 43 straight games under Schmidt. And the team nearly cracked the 100-point mark in a game last season—a 96-6 win over Trinity Academy (Wichita, Kan.).

High School Esports Rankings: Most 'Madden NFL' wins of all time

While Friday night and Saturday afternoon football kick off across the country, another type of gridiron action is taking place for high school teams in 2022: Madden NFL.

The popular football game that has become an iconic staple in pop culture is part of PlayVS‘ esports platform, which the NFHS Network and state associations officially recognize.

Since the platform’s inception and official status, there have been three seasons of Madden NFL, with teams from around the U.S. competing for football supremacy (as well as state championships).

And the best of the best have been separated by the slimmest of margins…

Related: These high school esports teams have the most championships since 2019.

Like the esports teams that have racked up the most wins in Rocket League and League of Legends, though, as the new season nears—with the 2022 Esports Rankings approaching—things will undoubtedly shift and shake up the overall standings.

Until then, here’s a look at the 25 all-time winningest Madden NFL teams, according to PlayVS’ official stats.

Girls flag football approved as official HS sport in California southern section

In a move that comes on the heels of growing traction in recent years and could prelude growth in other states, the California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section has voted to approve girls flag football as an official sport.

The governing body voted 61-26 with two abstentions to make it an official sports with the goal of launching it for the 2023-24 school year, according to ABC7.

At both high school and college, girls flag football participation has increased in recent years. It is sanctioned at the high school level seven states — Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Nevada and New York, per CBS — and is an NAIA collegiate sport. In 2021, the NFL and Nike launched a $5 million grant toward the sport, and the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers launched a pilot high school league that elicited response from more than 70 schools wanting in, according to the Associated Press.

At the start of the 2022 high school season, Nike and the NFL launched a kickoff event with boys and girls football players taking part at an event at the Nike headquarters in Oregon.

Former NFL player Bobby Taylor said in an interview with USA TODAY High School Sports during the event said that the challenge to growing girls flag football hasn’t been willingness from athletes, but instead garnering enough support and resources.

“When you have entities like the NFL, Nike, supporting all of the efforts … the states that bring on girls flag as a sanctioned high school sport, and you also have the opportunity for girls to get scholarships … When you have this type of energy, it’s kind of hard for you to fail,” he said.

Arch Manning tops uncles Peyton and Eli for Isidore Newman all-time passing records

Only one Manning holds the all-time touchdowns and passing yards records at Isidore Newman (La.) — and that distinction now belongs to Texas commit Arch.

The Greenies’ 5-star playcaller came into Friday night’s game against Pearl River (La.) on the legendary heels of his uncles, nearing the 7,268 career passing yards mark held by Eli while needing one touchdown pass to break the tie with Peyton (93).

And while the buildup to such a monumental achievement would probably make for a two-thumbs-up, feature-length film, Arch had other plans against the Rebels, taking care of the one record-setting milestone before the second quarter.

Entering the night, Arch Manning was tied with uncle, Peyton, for career TD passes at Newman with 93.

The Texas Longhorns commit threw three TD passes…in the first quarter at Pearl River.

— Garland Gillen (@garlandgillen) October 1, 2022

Newman went up 24-0 at that point and eventually headed into halftime with a commanding 38-7 lead. And when the scoreboard ticked down to zero in the fourth quarter, the Greenies found themselves with a solid 52-22 victory — a nice bounce-back win from last week’s loss to Many (La.).

And of course, Arch had his spot atop the Newman quarterback hierarchy, finishing the night with 356 yards passing, which topped Eli’s record.
